Last Monday, I competed in judo at the U18 European Championships in Gran Canaria. I thought it was a cool experience from which I learned a lot.
I look back on a good tournament day, where I finished in 5th place. I managed to win my first three matches against guys who have all been in a European Cup final this year, including an Italian ranked 5th in the world. Unfortunately, I lost the semi-final and the bronze medal match to a strong Azerbaijani and a Frenchman.
On Monday I was disappointed because I was sitting so close to the podium. Now I can look back on it with pride! And I have new things to work on in the near future!
