Klaas Heimans – judoka & elite athlete I am a Dutch judoka and elite athlete, born in 2010. Judo has been central to my life since I was four years old. What started as a game in Heemstede has grown into a serious elite sports career with national and international successes. The club where I train is Topjudo Kenamju, known as a highly motivated club where fun and hard training go hand in hand. Topjudo Kenamju has already guided several judokas to the top. My biggest dream is to become a world judo champion and compete at the highest international level. I started judo in Heemstede with Martin Overbosch. At the age of six, I moved up to the competition squad in Haarlem. My first official competitions followed shortly after.

In recent years, I have been competing among the top Dutch youth athletes. I compete in competitions in the Netherlands and Europe and have achieved several podium finishes at prestigious national and international judo tournaments.

National titles:

• 🥇 Dutch Judo Championships -15 years (2022)
• 🥇 Dutch Judo Championships -15 years (2024)
• 🥉 Dutch Judo Championships -18 years (2025)
• 🥇 Dutch Judo Championships -18 years (2026)

My goal is to be selected by the Dutch Judo Federation to represent the Netherlands in the European Cadet Cups (ECCs). During these top tournaments, I want to compete against the best judokas in Europe. My ambitions extend beyond Europe. With daily training, international experience, and professional guidance, I work towards reaching the absolute world top every day, with Japan as the ultimate dream destination for every judoka.

Training, elite sports & school

I train daily and also do strength training several times a week. I am guided by several experienced trainers who together contribute to my technical, physical, and mental development as an elite athlete.

Besides sports, school is also important, of course. I attend Mendel College, which actively supports elite sports. This allows me to combine training, internships, and (international) tournaments with school, as long as my academic results remain up to par.
